I have more than twenty years of experience in the mental health field.
My approach is grounded in attachment theory, which says as humans we fundamentally need comfort and protection from our loved ones, and when something gets in the way of this we are distressed. Often the way we interact with others in the present is shaped by the ways we have experienced relationships in the past. Sometimes it’s helpful to take a closer look at these dynamics. Therapy can provide a non-judgmental, safe place to be curious about how we respond to others, learn more about our patterns of interacting with others, and discover new ways of responding to complicated interpersonal situations.
I truly consider it an honor when clients entrust me with their care. I strive to cultivate a warm, welcoming, and caring environment.
I graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor’s degree and earned a Master’s in Social Work degree from Western Michigan University.
I live in Grand Rapids with my husband and children.
